Donald Trump receives tweet from Oscars stage

First-time Oscar host Jimmy Kimmel mocks US president Donald Trump's demeanor during an Oscar opening monologue.

First-time host of Oscars 2017, Jimmy Kimmel, live-tweets US President Donald Trump from the Oscars stage, mocking him for his irrational stands before the audience.

Kimmel showed his cell phone on the Oscars' big screen and tweeted trump in a sarcastic way.

In one of his tweets to the US president, with the hashtag “Merylsayshi,” he referred to US actress Meryl Streep’s famous Golden Globes protest speech against Trump.

Kimmel tweeted vie a Samsung phone, which makes sense as Samsung often sponsors the Academy Awards.

His first tweet received nearly 65,000 retweets in just two minutes, media reports said.

This comes as Iranian movie ‘The Salesman’ directed by Asghar Farhadi has won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards.

The movie was competing ‘Land of Mine’ from Denmark, ‘A Man Called Ove’ from Sweden, ‘Tanna’ from Australia and ‘Toni Erdmann’ from Germany.
